- To achieve success you must believe in yourself. However, it does not mean that you have no limitations. It means that you are to take a discovery of yourself, find out what qualities you have that are strong and useful and then organize these qualities into an action plan with the goal you desire. To succeed, you must have faith in your own abilities to do whatever you make up your mind to do.
- Self-confidence is an unseen force which coaxes, drives, or leads on and on until the goal becomes a reality. People without self-confidence lack the ability to act on their plans. They do not believe that acting will change anything about their lives. To them, action is worthless. If there is no point in acting, there is no point in taking risks or doing anything else to upset the status quo of their lives. Therefore they trap themselves in an endless cycle of demonstrating to themselves that nothing ever gets any better. Maxwell Maltz once say: " Of all the traps and pitfalls of life, self-disesteem is the deadliest and the hardest to overcome, for it is a pit designed and dug by out own hands, summed up in the phrase, it is no use, I cannot do it."
- Action-oriented self-confidence is the willingness to accept risk and failure while believing that you are ultimately pursuing an attainable and worthy goal. You need to push yourself to do things you have not done before, and by doing so, you increase your ability to act self-confidently. With greater self-confidence, you will able to reach for higher goals and to make progress toward what you desire in your life.
